NESCAC SUMMER SPOTLIGHT: Megan Fox, Middlebury Softball

Megan Fox is a 2024 graduate of Middlebury College and a former member of the Panther softball team. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in molecular biology and biochemistry. She earned All-NESCAC honors for the first time in her career, garnering a place on the second team. Fox was recently named a NESCAC All-Academic selection for the third-consecutive year and also earned CSC Academic All-District laurels for the second-straight season.

She led the team in home runs with three and runs batted in, totaling 35. Her RBI total ranked fourth in the conference. Fox also ranked second on the squad in hits (36) and total bases (48) and was third in batting average (.321) and slugging percentage (.429). The Panther concluded her career in a fourth-place tie in the program record books with 11 roundtrippers, while her five as a junior were tied for sixth in a single season.

Behind the plate, Fox recorded 77 putouts without committing a single error. The catcher also didn't allow any passed balls last season.

Fox was a student worker in the Middlebury Athletic Communications office throughout her time at Middlebury. She helped with office tasks and was a key part of the game-day staff for numerous sports including field hockey, ice hockey and basketball.

Following her graduation from Middlebury, Fox began working in the Gittes Lab in the surgical unit at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Children’s Hospital. The lab is working toward a cure for Type 1 diabetes while preparing to take the MCAT to go to medical school.
