NESCAC Player of the Week
Kelly McGuigan - Williams - Sr. IF - San Mateo, Calif.
McGuigan went 8-of-14 batting (.571), with five RBI, three runs scored, two home runs, and two doubles in a 3-1 week for the Ephs. In a 7-5, 14-inning loss to RPI, in a game that started on April 9 at Williams and finished on May 1 at RPI, McGuigan went 4-of-5 batting, with three RBI, one home run, two doubles, and one run scored. The senior hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th, which extended the game and knotted the score at 3-3. In a doubleheader sweep of NESCAC-rival Wesleyan on Saturday McGuigan went a combined 3-for-6 in the batter's box, with two RBI, one home run, and one run scored.

NESCAC Pitcher of the Week
Sky Johnson - Tufts - Jr. - P - Pismo Beach, Calif.
Johnson went 2-0 with a 1.00 earned run average in 14 innings last week. The junior went the distance allowing four hits and two runs in a 5-2 Game 1 victory at Bowdoin on Saturday which clinched the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC Championship for Tufts. At Babson on Tuesday, Johnson entered in relief and did not allow a run in seven innings helping the Jumbos come back from a 5-0 deficit to win 6-5 in eight innings. Johnson allowed nine hits and walked just two while striking out 10 in her two outings.
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
AmherstAmerica Rangel (Pico Rivera, Calif.) went 3-for-7 in two games last week. The junior scored one run and had a sacrifice bunt. 

BatesEmma Yen (Albertson, N.Y.) completed one of the great surprise seasons in Bates history with an 8-for-13 effort at the plate with two runs scored, three doubles, and a stolen base over four games for the Bobcats. Entering play on April 10, Yen was 1-for-22 on the season. The sophomore finishes the 2024 campaign 27-for-70 at the plate, good for a .386 batting average, and a team-leading 1.006 OPS.

ColbyCarissa Cassidy (Columbus, Ind.) collected four hits, scored three runs, and swiped two stolen bases in a series sweep over Amherst to close out the regular season for the Mules.  The sophomore ranks fifth in runs, is sixth for hits, and is 21-for-21 on stolen bases which ranks third in the NESCAC. With a complete game victory in Game 1 against Amherst to close out the regular season, senior Abby Orso (York Harbor, Maine) reached two major milestones.  Her career-high 11th win of the season was also her 30th in her three-year career, and she eclipsed the 300-strikeout milestone. Orso also appeared in Game 2 to shut down the Mammoth's final-inning threat to earn her first save of the season. 

Hamilton – Sophomore Alison Zorn (San Diego, Calif.) went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and a stolen base in a doubleheader at Middlebury. Zorn has hit safely in the last four games. Teagan Graham (Utopia, Ontario) pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in a 6-2 setback in Game 1 at Middlebury. Graham tossed all six innings in a 3-0 loss in Game 2. The junior allowed two earned runs on five hits, walked three, and struck out three.

MiddleburyKristyn Carroll (Kinnelon, N.J.) helped Middlebury sweep Hamilton in the regular-season finale on Saturday as the Panthers extended their win streak to nine games. The Panther went 5-for-6 and eclipsed the 100-career hits mark in the doubleheader, which included a triple and four stolen bases. Earlier in the week, Carroll became Middlebury’s all-time leader in stolen bases, increasing her mark to 38. The Panther also drew five walks over the four contests, moving into second on the program’s single-season list with 24 total. Carroll ranks first in the NESCAC in walks (24), and second in batting average (.500) and swipes (32) this season.
Jewel Ashbrooke (Fremont, Neb.) picked up a pair of wins in the circle last week. The Panther struck out four batters over 13.0 innings of work, allowing a season-low two hits against Hamilton while not recording a single walk over the pair of victories. The senior has won five straight in the circle, improving to 8-3 this spring.
 
Trinity – In a three-game week, senior Kennedy Rodgers (Phillips Ranch, Calif.) went 4-for-10. Rogers was 3-for-3, including two home runs, while registering two RBI, in the Bantams’ 5-4 victory over Bates. Continuing the momentum, Rogers amassed four RBI in the subsequent game to help Trinity sweep Bates. In the second game of the conference doubleheader, Kaysen Shikar (Watchung, N.J.) capped off a sweep of Bates with a four-hit shutout, marking her second shutout of the season. The sophomore registered seven strikeouts while issuing just two walks and conceding one double.

Tufts – Sophomore Kaitlyn Perucci (Coto De Caza, Calif.) had four RBI in Tufts' 6-2 win at Bowdoin in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday, a victory which clinched the No. 1 seed for the Jumbos in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament. After Bowdoin had taken a 1-0 lead, Perucci hit a two-run single in the third to put Tufts in front 2-1, then she doubled home two runs in the fifth giving Tufts a 5-1 advantage. In Game 2, Perucci had the RBI to bring home Tufts' first run in an eventual 5-0 victory that gave Tufts a 15-3 record in the conference. She finished the day with three hits and five RBI.

WilliamsSadie Leonard (Tiburon, Calif.) went 2-0 in the circle in a 3-1 week for the Ephs. Leonard improved to 10-1 on the season in a 5-0 seven-inning win over Wesleyan in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday. Leonard allowed one hit in six innings and struck out 11 while walking two. Leonard improved to 9-1 during a 2-1 seven-inning win at RPI on Wednesday. Leonard went the distance in the game, giving up one run and four hits, while striking out 13 and walking three. Leonard also threw five innings of relief in a 7-5, 14-inning loss against RPI that started on April 9 at Williams and finished on May 1 at RPI. Leonard gave up one earned run and one hit while striking out 12 and walking four.
