NESCAC Player of the Week
Nate Karren - Williams - Sr. - C - Sacramento, Calif.
Karren averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in a 2-0 NESCAC weekend for the Ephs. The senior shot 61 percent from the field and 67 percent from 3-point range for the week. Karren scored a game-high 17 points and tied for the team lead in rebounding with seven caroms to go along with a 5-of-8 effort on 3-point shots, in a 55-54 victory over Trinity on Friday. The five made 3-pointers tied a career-high for Karren. The Ephs became the first team to defeat the Bantams during the 2023-24 season, as Karren hit the game-winning, 3-pointer with two seconds remaining, allowing Williams to overcome a six-point deficit with under a minute left in the contest. Karren also netted a team-high 16 points in a 76-65 triumph over visiting Wesleyan on Saturday to propel the Ephs into first place in the NESCAC standings.
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
AmherstCharlie Randall (Larchmont, N.Y.) scored a game-high 26 points in only 29 minutes in an 80-62 loss to Conn. College last week. The sophomore shot 11-for-24 from the floor grabbed five rebounds and blocked three shots.

Bates – Simon McCormick (Whitefield, Maine) exploded for a career-high 34 points, matched his season-high with seven rebounds, and dished out five assists on Friday at Bowdoin. The senior guard also poured in 26 points, grabbed five rebounds, and tallied six assists on Saturday at Colby. McCormick hit 11 3-pointers and shot 48 percent from the arc on the week for Bates.

Bowdoin - Junior Afamdi Achufusi (Washington, D.C.) had a career-high 20 points with five rebounds and five assists in 46 minutes of play in a 90-87 double-overtime win over Bates on Friday night.

Colby – Max Poulton (Wellesley, Mass.) led Colby to two conference wins, including a 66-64 upset of Tufts.  The sophomore averaged 22.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.0 steals across the pair of victories. Poulton’s six 3-pointers against Tufts marked a season high and he has scored 20 or more points eight times this season. Poulton ranks fifth in the NESCAC in scoring (16.9).

Conn. College – Elias Espinosa (Leonia, N.J.) averaged a team-high 20.0 points per game while shooting 64 percent from the field last week to lead the Camels to a pair of league wins. The sophomore scored 17 points and added four rebounds, two assists, and a steal in an 80-62 victory over Amherst. The forward also netted 23 points on 9-for-12 shooting against Hamilton and knocked down five 3-pointers. Espinosa shot 14-for-22 from the field and totaled eight 3-pointers to shoot 61.5 percent from long range for the week.

Hamilton - Garret Keyhani (Hillsborough, Calif.) posted team highs of 22 points and eight rebounds in the sophomore's lone game last week, a 94-77 setback at Connecticut College. Keyhani has six 20-point games this season – all against NESCAC opponents.

Middlebury – Senior Noah Osher (Northbrook, Ill.) helped lead Middlebury to a 75-70 victory over Wesleyan on Friday night. The Panther led all players with 18 points in the win. Osher moved into 14th place among Middlebury’s career-scoring leaders with 1,137 points.

Trinity – Sophomore Henry Vetter (Kenilworth, Ill.) led the Bantams offensively during a 1-1 week in conference play, averaging 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. Vetter netted a game-high 18 points with six rebounds and three assists in a 56-41 win at Middlebury.

TuftsScott Gyimesi (Fair Haven, N.J.) helped the Jumbos go 1-1 on the weekend, as the sophomore forward averaged a double-double of 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds over two games in Maine. Gyimesi finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Colby, going 8-of-14 from the field on Friday night. The sophomore also registered 16 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists in a win over Bowdoin. Gyimesi has 15 double-doubles on the season to lead the NESCAC and ranks fifth in the nation.

Wesleyan – Junior Shane Regan (Larchmont, N.Y.) averaged 22.0 points per game over the weekend, scoring 29 points (11-20 FG) on Friday night against Middlebury and following with 15 points and seven assists on Saturday against Williams.
