NESCAC Player of the Week
Ryan Tucker – Amherst – Sr. – F – Clarkston, Mich.
Tucker scored four goals and added two assists in a 2-0-0 week for the Mammoths, who defeated Tufts, 5-4 in overtime, and Connecticut College, 7-3. In the 7-3 win over the Camels, Tucker registered a hat trick and assisted on another. The senior bookended the Mammoths' scoring day, netting the first goal of the game for a 1-0 lead, and scoring the final two markers. Tucker’s goal in the Tufts game gave Amherst a 2-1 lead, and his assist came on the game-tying goal with just over four minutes left in the third period. Tucker leads the Mammoths with 14 goals and 25 points this season.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Bowdoin - First-year
Matt Wierl (South Salem, N.Y.) had the first multi-goal game of his collegiate career, scoring twice in a 4-1 win at Wesleyan on Friday evening.
Colby -
Jayden Grier (Needham, Mass.) scored three goals over the weekend as the Mules split in conference play. The rookie tallied his fifth goal of the year in Friday night's setback to Trinity, and he recorded his second two-goal game of the season in Saturday's victory over Wesleyan.
Conn. College - Sophomore forward
Cole Eichler (King, Ontario) had a strong week, as Conn picked up a split against Hamilton and Amherst. On Friday night, in a 3-2 win over the Continentals, Eichler set up Rocco Testa-Basi for the game’s opening goal. On Saturday, with the Camels trailing 2-0 late in the second period, Eichler got Conn on the board with a wrister into the top corner, to cut the deficit in half.
Hamilton – Sophomore
Jackson Krock (Mars, Pa.) scored three of the Continentals' five goals in two games. Krock registered two goals, 14 faceoff wins, and a blocked shot in a 3-2 overtime win at Tufts. The sophomore forward added another goal and 11 faceoff victories in a 3-2 setback at Connecticut College. The multi-goal game against the Jumbos was the second of Krock's Hamilton career.
Middlebury –
Jackson Morehouse (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied a hat trick on Saturday, helping Middlebury edge Williams with a 7-5 victory. The rookie recorded the first tally of the game and with Middlebury leading 3-2 in the second frame, Morehouse scored back-to-back markers, one in the second and one in the third period, to put the Panthers up 5-2. With the win, the Panthers avenged a 1-0 loss to the Ephs on Friday night. It marked the second time that Morehouse had a multi-goal output against a conference opponent this season.
Trinity – Junior
Nicholas Siffringer (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) scored a goal in both NESCAC wins over Colby (5-3) and Bowdoin (2-1). The junior also won 10 faceoffs versus Bowdoin and totaled 17 faceoff wins for the weekend to register a .515 faceoff-win percentage.
Tufts – Junior
Tyler Sedlak (Wyckoff, N.J.) had multi-point games in both contests over the weekend with a goal and an assist against Amherst and two assists versus Hamilton. The goal in the Amherst game gave Tufts a 3-2 lead at 8:17 of the third period. Against Hamilton, he factored in both goals, including an assist when Tufts scored with one minute left in regulation to tie the score at 2-2 and send the game to overtime. For the two games, Sedlak had one goal and three assists.
Williams – Senior
Connor Tobin (Sandwich, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal with 4:42 remaining in the second period during a 1-0 triumph at Middlebury on Friday. Tobin also tallied one assist in a 7-5 setback against visiting Middlebury on Saturday in the home-and-home series.
