NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week
Georgia Adams – Wesleyan – F – Jr. – Andover, Mass.
Adams accounted for all four Cardinal goals in a 4-2 home win over Colby that clinched a NESCAC Tournament berth for Wesleyan. The junior forward scored three goals, becoming just the second Cardinal since 2013 to register a hat trick, while adding an assist for a seven-point game.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Molly Donegan (Wallingford, Conn.) scored the Mammoths’ lone goal of the week in a 2-1 overtime loss to Bowdoin. It was the junior’s team-leading seventh goal of the season.
Bates – Senior
Maria Femia (Canton, Mass.) scored her fifth goal of the season on Saturday, tying the game at 1-1 in the second quarter on Senior Day against No. 1 ranked Middlebury. Femia's five goals this year rank second on the Bobcats.
Colby –
Christina Sweeney (Milton, Mass.) tallied a goal and an assist in a setback at No. 10 Wesleyan on Saturday. The rookie’s goal was the first of her career and knotted the score at 1-1 heading into halftime. The first-year's assist put the Mules ahead early in the third quarter.
Connecticut College –
Bridget McGann (West Hartford, Conn.) scored the Camels’ lone goal against Williams last week. The junior tallied her team-leading 11th goal in the final minutes of the contest, recording just the seventh goal against the Ephs in 14 games this season.
Hamilton – Junior
Claire Tratnyek (Short Hills, N.J.) is second on the team with four goals and 10 points after scoring in the Continentals' 3-1 setback at Trinity. Senior
Delaney Grace (Halifax, Mass.) had the assist on Tratnyek's goal and leads the team with three helpers.
Middlebury – Knotted at 1-1 with just under five minutes remaining in the first half, senior
Caroline Segal (Glencoe, Ill.) scored to give No. 1 Middlebury a 2-1 edge over No. 14 Bates heading into the break. Segal carried the momentum into the second half, finding the back of the cage again at the 30:42 mark to secure a 3-1 victory. With the pair of markers, Segal moved into first place in the NESCAC with 16 goals on the season, while ranking second in points (56).
Tufts – Junior
Hannah Biccard (Cape Town, South Africa) scored twice and added an assist in Tuts’ 5-1 win over Roger Williams on Senior Day. Biccard scored the final goal before the break to give the Jumbos a 4-0 lead and added the first goal of the third quarter to push the advantage to 5-0.
Williams – Senior
Meaghan Boehm (Millburn, N.J.) recorded a goal and an assist as the No. 3 Williams squad defeated Conn. College, 4-1, on Saturday.
