NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Sergio Beltran – Bates – Jr. – WR – East Palo Alto, Calif.
Beltran paced the Bobcats with five catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns and ran the ball four times for 19 yards. The junior converted a third and five play for his first touchdown of the game to give Bates a 14-10 lead at the half. Trailing 20-14 and facing third and nine at the Middlebury 14 Beltran caught a pass at the 10-yard line, got past a defender, and dove into the endzone to help Bates take a 21-20 lead for the Bobcats’ first win over the Panthers since 1988.

NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Matt Juneau – Bates – Sr. – LB – Wakefield, Mass.
Juneau notched nine total tackles, including six solo stops, as Bates beat Middlebury, 21-20. Juneau helped sack the Middlebury QB late in the fourth quarter on third and six from the Bates 22, forcing a long field goal attempt that came up short, preserving the win for the Bobcats.

NESCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Christos Tzoumakas – Colby – So. – K – Birmingham, Mich.
Tzoumakas tallied 10 of Colby's 16 points in a 16-13 victory at Hamilton. Tzoumakas converted three field goals of 35, 28, and 37 yards marking a career-high for a single game and his extra point conversion made him a perfect 14-for-14 on the season.  The sophomore also averaged 58.2 yards per kickoff, recording four touchbacks.  

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Sophomore Matthew Diaz (Northport, N.Y.) had one catch last week, but made it count as it went for a 37-yard touchdown reception in a 31-14 loss to Wesleyan … Senior Solomon Christopher (Los Angeles, Calif.) had four pass break-ups on Saturday, and made three tackles, two solo, against the Cardinals. 
 
Bates – Junior Parker Huynh-Benningfield (Austin, Texas) had his best day yet this season and the second-best of his career, averaging 35.7 yards per punt in the Bates football team's 21-20 win over Middlebury.
 
Bowdoin – Sophomore Ty Connolly (Waltham, Mass.) caught a career-high six passes for 47 yards Saturday against the Bantams ... Senior linebacker Koy Price (Norwalk, Conn.) had 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble against Trinity. Price leads the conference and is tied for sixth in Division III with 9.0 sacks this season.
 
Colby – Senior Keon Smart (Woodstock, Ga.) scored the game-winning touchdown in Colby's 16-13 victory over Hamilton with 1:18 remaining in the fourth quarter. Recording his fourth career 100-yard game on the ground with 103 yards on 19 carries, the senior did his most impactful damage through the air slipping out of the backfield to haul in his fourth reception of the game and scampering 19 yards for the deciding score. Smart ranks second in the NESCAC in all-purpose yards with 120 yards per game … Nicholas Cox (Lyme, Conn.) tallied a career-high five tackles against Hamilton from the safety position, all solo stops.  The sophomore intercepted his second pass in as many games on the Continentals' opening drive and returned it 27 yards into the red zone to set up Colby's first score in the 16-13 win.
  
Hamilton – Sophomore Chester Boynton (Concord, Mass.) caught four passes for 31 yards and tied a Hamilton single-season record with 55 receptions in a 16-13 setback against Colby … Senior Kevin Lyons (Holliston, Mass.) was credited with a career-high seven tackles and broke up three passes versus the Mules … Sophomore Carmelo Velardo (Fort Lee, N.J.) made two field goals (26 and 31 yards) for the second game in a row. Velardo is 4-for-4 on field goals and 9-for-9 on extra points this season.
 
Middlebury – Sophomore Matt Shaw (North Andover, Mass.) posted a career-high 12 tackles against Bates on Saturday, with his nine solo stops being the most for the Panther. Shaw ranks first in the conference in solo tackles (39) and is third overall with 51 total tackles … With two field goals on Saturday, senior Zach Levy (Arvada, Colo.) set a school record for most career field goals (21). The previous mark of 20 was set by NFL Super Bowl Champion and soon-to-be Hall of Famer Stephen Hauschka ’07 over three years. The Panther also had two PATs against Bates and ranks fifth in the NESCAC with 43 points.
 
Trinity – Senior Sean Clapp (Wyckoff, N.J.) guided the Bantams to an early lead in a 34-14 victory over Bowdoin. Clapp hauled in a game-high two touchdowns with six receptions and 68 yards. Clapp pulled down a 9-yard score on the Bantams' opening drive and snagged a 10-yard touchdown reception on the following drive to spot Trinity a 14-0 lead. Clapp sits six receptions, 431 yards, and four touchdowns shy of becoming the program leader in all three categories … Junior Charlie Cooper (Sarasota, Fla.) helped lead the Bantams defense in the win over the Polar Bears. Cooper logged a pair of fourth-quarter interceptions, along with two tackles and a pass breakup. Cooper leads the NESCAC in pass breakups and ranks third in interceptions … Senior Matthew Jumes (Franklin, Mass.) went 2-for-2 on field goal attempts, connecting from 34 and 33 yards out, along with 4-for-4 on extra point attempts. With the two field goals, Jumes became Trinity's all-time leader in field goals made, passing the mark set by Eric Sachse in 2016.
 
Tufts - Christian Shapiro (South Salem, N.Y.) helped Tufts post a 27-24 win at Williams. The sophomore running back rushed for a career-high 131 yards and a score on 23 carries. Shapiro helped Tufts take a 14-0 lead with a two-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter and posted his second 100-yard rushing game of the season. The sophomore ranks fourth in the NESCAC in rushing … Sophomore cornerback Ty Richardson (San Mateo, Calif.) recorded four tackles, including one for loss, along with an interception in the end zone to stop a Williams drive late in the second quarter. Richardson also recovered a late onside kick by the Ephs in the waning moments to clinch the win for the Jumbos. Richardson leads the NESCAC with five interceptions … Kicker Vaughn Seelicke (Little Rock, Ark.) continued his historic season for the Jumbos, as he made both of his field goal attempts and all three PATs. The junior connected on a 23-yard field goal in the third quarter to give the Jumbos a 17-10 lead. The field goal was Seelicke’s 12th make of the season, setting a new single-season record for field goals made at Tufts. Seelicke also converted a 32-yard field goal with just over two minutes to play to push Tufts’ lead to two scores. The junior’s three PATs increased his career mark to 86 passing former Jumbo Matt Alswanger’s all-time mark of 84. Seelicke is the leader at Tufts in single-game, single-season, and career field goals made and PATs.
 
Wesleyan – Getting his first career game action, first-year running back Matt Diaz (Stratford, Conn.) carried the ball 20 times for 76 yards and two touchdowns for Wesleyan who scored 31 unanswered points to defeat Amherst, 31-14, on the road … Junior Dylan Connors (West Milford, N.J.) snagged his first interception of the season on the first play of the fourth quarter. The Cardinal defense held Amherst scoreless for the final 53+ minutes of play and limited the Mammoths to just 27 total yards of offense in the second half. 
 
Williams – Owen McHugh (Milton, Mass.) threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns against Tufts on Saturday. The sophomore also rushed 12 times for 68 yards and one touchdown … Senior Tim Landolfi (Duxbury, Mass.) posted nine solo tackles and a sack against the Jumbos … Senior Ivan Shuran (Medina, Ohio) converted his only field goal attempt (26 yards) and was 3-for-3 on PATs.
