NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Brian Moran – Middlebury – Jr. – QB – Richmond, Va.
Moran posted career-highs in passing yards (313) and touchdowns (3) to lead the Panthers past Trinity, 24-21, and snap the Bantams’ nine-game win streak. Moran’s nine-yard toss with 21 seconds left in regulation proved to be the game-winner. Moran also had a 62-yard pass, marking his second-longest of the season and career. The junior ranks second in the league in touchdowns (13), and third in yards per game (238.0).

NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Julian Young – Colby – Sr. – LB – Manalapan, N.J.
Young continued his drive towards 300 career tackles (274 to date) with another double-digit tackle performance in Colby's 38-7 victory over Amherst. Young posted 10 tackles (7 solo), two tackles for a loss of seven yards, and one sack against the Mammoths. The Mules' defensive unit limited Amherst to three first downs and 47 yards of offense through three quarters. Each of the last three contests between Colby and Amherst had margins of victory of less than four points (all Colby wins), the Young-led defensive unit ensured Colby's largest margin of victory in a series that began over a century ago.

NESCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Gage Hammond – Wesleyan – So. – K – Montclair, N.J.
Hammond handled the kicking duties for the Cardinals in a Wesleyan’s 17-14 win at Bowdoin. The sophomore hit a career-long 37-yard field goal in his only attempt and was 2-for-2 on PATs. Hammond punted nine times with five punts pinning Bowdoin inside its own 20-yard line, including a long of 54 yards. Hammond also kicked off four times for an average of 58.0 yards with two kickoffs going for touchbacks.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Cato Lagaspi (Yonkers, N.Y.) led the Mammoths with three receptions for 44 yards on Saturday, including a 19-yard touchdown reception for the team's only score in a loss to Colby. The junior led the team in rushing with six yards on two carries … Junior Luke Harmon (Washington, D.C.) made seven tackles, six solo, and one for a 7-yard loss while breaking up two passes … Senior Michael Mitchell (Elm Grove, Wis.) averaged 42.4 yards per punt on eight punts versus the Mules with a long of 50 yards. 
 
Bates – Ryan Lynskey (Canford, N.J.) carried the ball 20 times for a career-high 126 yards Saturday at Williams. The sophomore averaged 6.3 yards per carry, including a career-long run of 61 yards. It was Lynskey's third 100-yard rushing performance of the season as he leads the NESCAC in rushing yards with 569 … Ryan Rozich (Cromwell, Conn.) tallied a season-high nine solo tackles against the Ephs. The sophomore matched his season-high with two tackles for loss. Rozich was the second-leading tackler on a Bates defense that held the Williams offense to a season-low 265 yards of total offense. 
 
Bowdoin – Against Wesleyan on Saturday, Bowdoin's defense posted eight sacks, the most by the Polar Bears in the last 20 seasons. Senior Koy Price (Norwalk, Conn.) led the way with 2.5 on the day, while first-year Angus Leary (West Roxbury, Mass.) had 1.5.
 
Colby - Miles Drake (Darien, Conn.) connected for four touchdown passes to four different receivers in Colby's 38-7 win over Amherst on Saturday.  The victory marked Colby's largest margin of victory over the Mammoths in a series that began over a century ago. With a completion percentage of almost 70 percent and a QBR of 185.9, Drake's 236 passing yards mark the second-highest of the junior's career.  Drake moved the chains for nine first downs to go along with his four scores … Christos Tzoumakas (Birmingham, Mich.) converted all four extra point attempts and added his third field goal in the last four games in the win. The sophomore managed kickoff duties with three touchbacks and punted three times for an average of 39.0 yards to help the Mules maintain an advantage in field position.
 
Hamilton – Luke Kurzum (Caldwell, N.J.) was 28-of-39 for 283 yards as the sophomore set career highs for completions and passing yards in a game in a 20-13 setback at Tufts. Ezra Lombardi (Danvers, Mass.) finished with a career-best 107 yards receiving and the senior's sixth career touchdown reception ... Junior Frank Ruiz (Tappan, N.Y.) forced a fumble, the first of his career, that caused a turnover in the first quarter against the Jumbos ... Carmelo Velardo (Fort Lee, N.J.) kicked the first two field goals of the sophomore's career versus the Jumbos. Velardo's 42-yarder was Hamilton's longest since Sam Thoreen '22 made one from 44 yards on Oct. 19, 2019. Velardo hasn't missed a kick this season (2-2 on FGs, 8-8 on PATs).
 
Middlebury – Matt Shaw (North Andover, Mass.) helped Middlebury hold Trinity scoreless in the second half on Saturday, en route to snapping the Bantam’s nine-game unbeaten streak with a 24-21 win. Shaw recorded six tackles (5 solo), forcing a fumble for a loss of 16 yards, and tallying a trio of QB hurries. The Panther is second on the team in tackles for loss (5.5 tackles for loss of 43 yards) and has recorded at least five solo tackles in five of six games. Middlebury is the first team to shut out Trinity in the second stanza for the first time in nearly two years (9/17/2022) … In a game that was decided by just three points, Zach Levy (Arvada, Colo.) converted 3-of-3 PATs and added a field goal to help Middlebury snap Trinity’s nine-game unbeaten streak. With Levy’s 20-yard boot in the fourth quarter, he moved into a tie for second place in the Middlebury record books with 19 career field goals, just one shy of the school mark set by Hall of Famer and NFL star Stephen Hauschka ‘07. The Panther is a perfect 17-for-17 in extra points on the year.

Tufts - Senior quarterback Michael Berluti (Westwood, Mass.) helped Tufts post a 20-14 win over Hamilton on Saturday. The signal-caller was 23-for-31 for 274 yards and a passing touchdown. Berluti also rushed for 43 yards and another score … Senior Henry Ferrelli (Tampa, Fla.) recorded a career-high 10 tackles, including seven solo stops, along with a tackle for loss, a forced fumble, a quarterback hurry, and a pass breakup in the win over the Continentals … Junior placekicker Vaughn Seelicke (Little Rock, Ark.) nailed both of his field goals, including a career-high 43-yarder, as well as two extra points. Seelicke has made 11 field goals on the season, tying the Tufts single-season record.
 
Wesleyan – James McHugh (Seaford, N.Y.) enjoyed a career day for the Cardinals in a 17-14 road win at Bowdoin on Saturday. The junior carried the ball 13 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns. All three marks are career-highs for McHugh as he scored both Wesleyan touchdowns in the win including a career-long 56-yard rushing touchdown … Ben Carbeau (Concord, Mass.) tallied four tackles (3 solo) with 2.5 tackles for loss and a half sack and helped lead a Wesleyan defense that allowed just 251 yards of offense and forced Bowdoin into eight punts for the game.
 
Williams – Owen McHugh (Milton, Mass.) went 21-for-32 passing with 141 yards in a 24-21 win over Bates on Saturday. The sophomore also had 14 rushing attempts for 56 yards and one touchdown, recording an 11-yard run to the endzone in the second quarter … Sophomore Holden Gering (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) recorded six solo tackles, one assisted tackle, and broke up two passes versus the Bobcats … Ivan Shuran (Medina. Ohio) converted his only field goal, connecting on a kick from 47 yards out at the end of the second quarter to give the Ephs a 17-7 halftime advantage. The senior was also 3-for-3 on PATs in the victory over Bates.
