NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Connor McClellan – Middlebury – Fy. – RB – Columbus, Ohio
McClellan played a pivotal role in Middlebury’s 32-29 overtime victory over Williams on Saturday. The rookie running back recorded a career-high 95 yards rushing (8.6 ypc) with three touchdowns, including the game-winner. The Panther also had one reception for 12 yards. McClellan’s 7-yard run allowed Middlebury to take a 14-13 halftime advantage and his 37-yard run in the third period tied the game. McClellan sealed the Panthers’ win when punched in the final touchdown from one yard out.

NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Jake Edwards – Wesleyan – Gr. – LB – Rockwall, Texas
Edwards recovered a strip sack fumble and sprinted 88 yards down the field for a walk-off overtime defensive touchdown as the Cardinals defeated Colby 23-17 in overtime on Saturday. The walk-off win is the second touchdown of Edwards' career. The linebacker added six tackles and a quarterback hurry to his stat totals against the Mules.

NESCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Ivan Shuran – Williams – Sr. – K – Medina, Ohio
Shuran broke his own Ephs' record for most field goals in a game with five on Saturday at Middlebury. The senior accounted for 17 of the Ephs’ 29 points against the Bantams with a 5-for-5 effort on field goals and 2-for-2 on PATs. In the third quarter, Shuran connected on a 43-yard field goal, the second-longest field goal in the conference this year. Shuran’s 17 points are the most by a NESCAC kicker this season.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Junior Carter Jung (Menlo Park, CA) made three receptions for 72 yards and the Mammoths' one touchdown against Bowdoin … Junior Damian Carrano (North Haven, Conn.) led the Mammoths with 10 tackles, 7 solo, and one for a loss last week.
 
Bates – Sergio Beltran (East Palo Alto, Calif.) averaged six yards per carry on Saturday against Tufts, carrying the ball six times for 36 yards. The junior also tallied a team-high three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown against the Jumbos … Johnny Walker (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tallied a season-high six total tackles, including a career-high four solo stops against the Jumbos. The senior also forced a key fumble in the first quarter that led to Bates’ first touchdown of the game and tied the score at 7-7. 

Bowdoin – Koy Price (Norwalk, Conn.) spearheaded a Polar Bear defense that helped Bowdoin earn its first win, 35-7, at Amherst since 2005. Price made six tackles in all, five solo, with 3.5 for loss, 1.5 sacks, and two quarterback hurries on the afternoon. The senior’s solo sack came on a third down deep in Amherst territory in the first quarter, which led to great field position for Bowdoin, who cashed in four plays later for a touchdown and an early 14-0 lead … Senior Jotham Casey (Cheshire, Conn.) punted four times, averaging 38.8 yards per kick, and went a perfect 5-for-5 in PATs as the Polar Bears defeated Amherst on the road for the first time since 2005. Casey had two punts of over 45 yards and dropped another inside the Amherst 15 in the win. 
 
Colby - Atticus Duncan (Narragansett, R.I.) secured his third touchdown of the season Saturday against Wesleyan.  The senior has at least one catch in all five games this season, and his score against the Cardinals was a one-handed grab that put Colby in front 14-6 in the third quarter … Julian Young (Manalapan, N.J.) tallied a career-high 15 stops against Wesleyan on Saturday. The senior also collected 1.5 sacks and two QB hurries. Young leads the NESCAC in tackles for the second straight season with 42 stops through five games. … Brendan Sawyer (Weston, Conn.) returned a kick for 14 yards, a punt for six, and rushed once from scrimmage, but his most impactful play came early in the third quarter when he blocked a punt inside Wesleyan's 30-yard line leading to Colby's second touchdown of the game.
 
Hamilton – Luke Kurzum (Caldwell, N.J.) gave the Continentals an early lead with a three-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter at Trinity. The sophomore has five career rushing touchdowns at Hamilton … Senior Ian Fratarcangeli (Huntington, N.Y.) tied a career-high with seven tackles and added a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry in a 31-7 setback at Trinity … Sophomore Carmelo Velardo (Fort Lee, N.J.) remained perfect on extra points this season (7-for-7) and had both kickoffs go for touchbacks against the Bantams.
 
Middlebury – Charlie Ozolin (Bend, Ore.) helped Middlebury edge Williams, 32-29, in overtime on Saturday. The Panther snagged a career-high two interceptions, returning for a combined 23 yards. Ozolin also had a career-best four tackles. In the two games Ozolin has played this season, the sophomore has three interceptions for 38 yards … With 13 seconds left in regulation, Zach Levy (Arvada, Colo.) split the uprights with a 37-yard game-tying field goal, helping the Panthers secure the overtime win against Williams. The kicker also converted an extra point at the end of the third quarter to tie the contest at 23-23. Levy’s field goal moved him into third place all-time with 18 in his career while going 2-for-2 in PATs. The sophomore ranks ninth in the NESCAC in scoring with 29 points on the year. 
 
Trinity – Zander Zebrowski (Verona, N.J.) helped lead the Bantams to a 31-7 victory over Hamilton as Trinity moved to 5-0 on the season. Zebrowski completed 18-of-25 passes for a game-high 264 yards and matched a career-high with four passing touchdowns. Zebrowski added a team-high 37 yards on the ground, averaging 5.3 yards per carry … Matthew Jumes (Franklin, Mass.) accounted for seven points in the Bantams’ victory. Jumes was 4-for-4 on extra points while adding a 22-yard field goal in the third quarter to help seal the victory for Trinity.
 
Tufts - Christian Shapiro (South Salem, N.Y.) posted a career day against Bates in a 45-22 victory. The sophomore rushed for 107 yards on 26 carries, scoring three times while pulling in two catches for 12 yards. It was the first 100-yard rushing game of Shapiro’s career and the running back became the first Tufts player with three rushing touchdowns in a game since Ryan McDonald rushed for four against Hamilton back in 2018 … Ty Richardson (San Mateo, Calif.), a sophomore cornerback, had four tackles, three solo while adding his fourth interception of the season. Richardson’s pick in the second half helped set up a field goal to make the score 31-7 against the Bobcats.
 
Wesleyan – Senior Chase Wilson (Lake Charles, La.) totaled eight catches for 96 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's 23-17 overtime win over Colby. Wilson posted consecutive games with eight catches while he has scored at least one touchdown in all five games to start the 2024 season. 

Williams – Mario Fischetti (Glen Head, N.Y.) rushed 19 times for 131 yards and one touchdown at Middlebury on Saturday. The senior rushed into the end zone from 1-yard out late in the third quarter, while tallying a 24-yard rush in the second quarter … Junior Calvin Pedatella (Bellport, N.Y.) recorded a team-high seven solo tackles and was tied for first on the team with seven assisted tackles against the Panthers.
