NESCAC Player of the Week
Devon Bobak – Trinity – So. – G – Northwood, Ohio
Bobak was a stalwart in the Bantams net, posting a .944 save percentage and a 1.45 goals against average with 51 saves in a 1-0-1 week for Trinity as the Bantams remained unbeaten in the NESCAC. Bobak notched 21 saves in a 4-2 win at Colby and registered a season-high 30 saves in a 1-1 overtime tie at Bowdoin.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Sophomore
Zachary Murray (Alexandria, Va.) scored two goals and added an assist in a 5-2 win over Connecticut College Saturday. The Mammoths were 1-1 last week.
Bowdoin - First-year
Isaac Abbott (Halifax, N.S.) netted the game-winning goal in overtime as the Polar Bears defeated Wesleyan on Friday night, 2-1.
Colby – Rookie
Donovan O'Neil (Duxbury, Mass.) scored the first two goals of Saturday's win against Wesleyan, his second and third scores of the season. The first-year connected four minutes into play for the only goal of the opening period. O’Neil’s second tally came three minutes into the second frame to give Colby its first two-goal lead since a 7-2 victory of Division II Saint Anselm on January 2nd.
Conn. College - Sophomore defender
Steven Ardagna (Roswell, Ga.) had a strong weekend on both ends of the ice, as Conn earned a conference split with Hamilton and Amherst. In a 5-4 win over the Continentals on Friday night, the sophomore provided the assist on the game-winning goal, while adding one blocked shot. On Saturday, Ardagna tallied the second Camels goal of the game, while once again adding a blocked shot.
Hamilton –
Luke Tchor (Toronto, Ontario) posted a five-point weekend in two games. Tchor had a goal and a primary assist as the Continentals rallied from a three-goal deficit in the third period to tie Tufts, 3-3. The first-year forward recorded their first three-point game this season with two goals and a helper in a 5-4 setback against Connecticut College.
Tufts – Junior
Tyler Sedlak (Wyckoff, N.J.) scored goals in both games as Tufts won on the road at Amherst 2-1 on Friday and earned a 3-3 tie at Hamilton on Saturday for 4.5 points in league play. Sedlak scored Tufts’ first goal on both days, tying the Amherst game 1-1 on a power play at 4:54 of the second period and giving Tufts a 1-0 lead at Hamilton 4:26 into the game. The Jumbos are unbeaten in their last nine games (8-0-1).
Williams –
Cal Sandquist (Evergreen, Colo.) earned his first collegiate shutout with a season-high 36 saves during a 2-0 triumph over Albertus Magnus on Friday. The junior also earned the win and made 36 saves in a 2-1 triumph over visiting Plattsburgh State on Saturday evening.
