NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week
Anna Cote – Bates – Jr. – M/F – Auburn, Maine
Cote scored the game-winning goal in overtime to propel Bates to a 2-1 NESCAC victory over Trinity in Hartford in the Bobcats’ lone game of the week. The junior has tallied seven points this season on two goals and three assists.
NESCAC Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll
Bowdoin – Senior
Caroline Higgins (Weston, Mass.) scored a hat trick in Bowdoin’s weekend win over Husson. Higgins has set career highs in goals (6) and points (18) through just eight games this fall.
Colby – Junior
Casey Winslow (Fairfield, Conn.) tallied the Mules’ first two goals on Sunday in Bangor against Husson, guiding Colby to a 6-2 win over the Eagles. The two tallies marked the first scores for Winslow since scoring in back-to-back games to open the season. Colby has won 15 straight games against Husson.
Conn. College -
Bridget McGann (West Hartford, Conn.) led the Camels with a goal against Hamilton last week. The sophomore scored with 8:02 remaining in the contest, taking a pass near the penalty spot and converting with a backhanded flick. The goal was her second of the season and she leads Conn. in scoring with six points.
Hamilton –
Lilly Truchon (South Burlington, Vt.) scored the first goal in a 3-2 win at Union and added two more in a 4-1 victory against Connecticut College. Truchon has scored at least one goal in three straight games and leads the team with four. The sophomore has nine career goals for the Continentals.
Middlebury –
Amy Griffin (Wilmette, Ill.) tallied three goals in a 2-0 week for Middlebury, helping the team extend its winning streak to 18 consecutive triumphs. Griffin tallied a pair of markers in a 7-1 victory over Skidmore, before scoring once to help the Panthers top Wesleyan, 5-1. The junior ranks in the top 10 in the conference in points (2nd - 19P), goals (3rd - 7G), and assists (3rd - 5A).
Trinity – Senior
Olivia McMichael (Glenside, Pa.) made a season-high 15 saves in a 2-1 overtime loss to Bates.
Tufts –
Hannah Biccard (Cape Town, South Africa) continued her strong first half of the season with a goal at Colby College in a 2-0 Tufts win on Saturday. The goal was the sophomore’s sixth of the season.
Wesleyan –
Helen Deretchin (Circleville, N.Y.) recorded an assist on the lone Cardinal goal in a 5-1 loss at Middlebury on Saturday. The junior also featured on the Cardinals' penalty corner defensive unit which held the Panthers to just one goal off 14 penalty corner opportunities.
Williams – Sophomore
Pilar Torres (Madison, N.J.) scored the game-winning goal with 2:44 remaining in the first quarter in a 3-0 win at Amherst on Saturday.
