NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week
Georgia Adams - Wesleyan - So. - F - Andover, Mass.
Adams scored three times in a home weekend sweep of NESCAC opponents. The NESCAC leader in goals and points, Adams scored once in a convincing 4-1 win over Trinity on Saturday. The sophomore followed that up with both Wesleyan goals in a 2-1 win over Hamilton on Sunday, giving the Cardinals their first win over the Continentals since 2014. Adams has notched at least one point in all seven games this season and has scored a goal in six straight games. Wesleyan improved to 6-1 with the pair of wins, marking the best start to a season since 2010, and is 3-0 in NESCAC play for the first time in program history. Adams is tied for the NESCAC lead in goals with nine while she is the NESCAC leader with 20 points in 2023.

AmherstSam Maynard (Charlestown, Mass.) scored four goals in three games in a 2-1 week for the Mammoths. The junior scored the Mammoths' lone goal in a 2-1 loss to MIT, then delivered a hat trick in a 4-1 win over Colby. It was Maynard’s second hat trick of the season and the forward is tied for the most goals in the NESCAC this season with nine.

BatesKami Lambert (Augusta, Maine) scored the first goal of the contest Saturday at Amherst, her fifth tally of the season, which ties Lambert for the team lead. The senior also put the pressure on Middlebury on Sunday, recording three shots, two on goal.

Bowdoin - Rookie Maddie Mrva (Shrewsbury, Mass.) had a goal and an assist as the Polar Bears earned a key NESCAC road win on Sunday at Williams, 2-1.

ColbyPernilla Shaw (Bow, N.H.) tied Sunday's game against Amherst early in the second half with her fifth goal of the season. The junior also tallied an assist earlier in the week in a non-conference victory over the University of Maine at Farmington.

Conn. College - Kylee Quinn (Sandwich, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season to propel the Camels to a 1-0 victory at Smith last week. The senior tallied the game-winner off a penalty corner with less than 15 minutes remaining in the contest to give Conn. College its second non-conference victory of the season. 

Hamilton – Sophomores Becky Felker (Bethesda, Md.) and Lilly Truchon (South Burlington, Vt.) scored one goal apiece in an 0-2 weekend for the Continentals. The goals were the first this season for both players. 

MiddleburyKK Newton (Madison, Conn.) stopped a career-best five shots, with two of those coming in the second half as the Panthers blanked Bates, 2-0. Newton leads the NESCAC with a .321 goals against average while ranking second in save percentage (.818). The senior’s performance in the cage helped Middlebury extend its win streak to 16 consecutive victories while maintaining a spot at the top of the conference standings. 

Trinity – Senior Katrina Winfield (Wilmington, Del.) tallied four goals across three games for the Bantams. Winfield netted a hat trick in a 5-0 non-conference victory against Springfield College and added Trinity's lone goal in a 4-1 loss at Wesleyan.

Tufts – A midfielder specializing in the team's transition and defensive play, Lainie Pearson (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) had not scored a goal in 44 career games entering the week. However, over the weekend the senior scored on penalty strokes in both games as Tufts swept Hamilton (5-1) and Trinity (2-0). Pearson’s first career goal against Hamilton put Tufts up 2-0 late in the first quarter, and she added a late tally in the third quarter at Trinity for a 2-0 Jumbo lead. Pearson’s transition passes and defensive play helped Tufts outscore the two opponents 7-1 and earn a 23-13 advantage in shots. Tufts remained unbeaten at 6-0 (4-0 NESCAC).

WilliamsMeaghan Boehm (Millburn, N.J.) totaled three goals in a 1-1 NESCAC weekend for the Ephs. The junior found the back of the net twice during an 8-1 win over Colby on Saturday, then tallied one goal in a 2-1 setback to Bowdoin on Sunday.
