Every Tuesday throughout the cross country season, the NESCAC Performers of the Week will be announced. The performers of the week for the opening weekend of racing are:

NESCAC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week
John Lucey - Williams - Sr. - Newburyport, Mass.
In the season-opening race at Vassar's Ron Stonitsch Invitational, Lucey was the individual champion of the men's 6K race, posting a time of 18:33. Lucey's first collegiate victory helped the Ephs clinch the team title with 22 points in the 8-team field.

NESCAC Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week
Nikki Chopra - Amherst - Fy. - Chicago, Ill.
Chopra placed second overall in her collegiate debut at the Smith College Invitational. Chopra navigated the 5K course in a time of 19:35 to claim runner-up honors, finishing 1.1 seconds behind the winner. The Mammoths took first overall by one point over WPI in the nine-team field.
