NESCAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Honors Revealed

HADLEY, Mass. – The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) announced its women's lacrosse awards for the 2023 campaign.

Middlebury senior Jane Earley was named the NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year, teammate Erica Barr garnered the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year honor, and Trinity first-year Molly McGuckin was selected as the NESCAC Rookie of the Year. Middlebury head coach Kate Livesay was tabbed as the NESCAC Coach of the Year.

Earley repeats as the NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year and is the eighth Panther to be honored. She also earned a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team, the third all-conference honor of her career.  Earley leads the league in draws (104), points (82), and points per game (4.56) while ranking second in goals (60) and third in assists (22). Earley eclipsed the 50-goal mark for the third time in her career this season and is second in Middlebury's record books in career goals (203), points (266), and draws (223). Earley set a program mark for most draw controls in a game earlier this season, winning 13 against TCNJ. Earley became just the second player in program history to surpass 100 draw controls in a season (104) during the Panthers' NESCAC Semifinal victory over Colby.

Barr is a two-time All-NESCAC First Team selection and has contributed to a Middlebury defensive unit that has limited opponents to 6.44 goals per game. Barr leads the Panthers in ground balls (35 – 6th in the NESCAC) and caused turnovers (34 – 3rd in the NESCAC) while ranking second in draws (62) and is third among Middlebury's all-time draw control leaders (206). Barr is the first Panther to garner the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year award.

McGuckin is the third Bantam to earn NESCAC Rookie of the Year and the first since 2008. McGuckin leads Trinity in scoring with team-highs of 51 goals and 64 points. She has also handed out 13 assists and collected 16 ground balls with 14 draws. McGuckin helped Trinity qualify for the NESCAC Championship for the 15th consecutive season and the Bantams received an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Livesay earns the NESCAC Coach of the Year honor for the seventh time in her career, winning it four times at the helm of Trinity, and this season marks the third time she has earned the honor while at Middlebury. She led the Panthers to a perfect regular season (15-0, 10-0 NESCAC) for the second consecutive year and the Panthers captured their 11th NESCAC title and earned a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament.
