CWhy did you choose to attend Colby?
I looked at many of the NESCAC schools but I chose Colby because of the coaching staff and the athletic facilities. It does not get much better than the facilities here in the northeast at any level. The coaches here are also awesome and really know what they’re talking about and strive to win every game.

What is your dream job/career?
I would love to work in baseball in a front office because I love baseball and working with other people. I think talent evaluation or coaching would be interesting too.

What extracurricular activities or service activities do you participate in?
I’ve worked with youth baseball teams on the weekend during my time at Colby and the experience of working with the kids has been rewarding and fun. I got involved in the practices and clinics through connections within Colby baseball and the athletic department.

Looking back on your four years, what are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the run we had as a team last year. It was exciting to be a part of a winning team and being involved in big games. For the first time in program history we made the playoffs, won a playoff series, and advanced to the NESCAC Championship weekend. For me, it was hard to watch those games because I was held out due to COVID along with some of my other teammates but I was proud and happy to see the rest of my teammates grind and compete during those games.

Is there anything special about your uniform number?
I wear #8. It was the number I grew up wearing because I loved Alex Ovechkin and then I didn’t have it for  awhile because of number selection and things like that for travel ball and high school. When I came to Colby we were randomly assigned numbers so getting 8 was a pretty cool thing for me.

What is something you enjoy doing that you never get tired of?
I love hitting. My favorite thing is going to the cage and working on different things and trying different feels. I love going down there with my teammates and friends and talking about baseball and life while we hit and trying to help each other get better.

What has been your favorite class outside of your major?
My favorite class outside if my major has been An Overview of 9/11: the build up and the aftermath. This class was on a subject that changed the world forever and was interesting to learn about from every angle. The professor was engaging and really helped me understand one of the most important events in America’s history. I recommend it to anyone that asks me about class here at Colby.

Who is your favorite professor?
Professor Dave Findlay is my favorite professor because he cares the most about his students and wants them to learn and understand the material he presents. Though he is one of the most challeneging professors I have had, he is the most passionate professor I have encountered. He wants his students to succeed and he is a real person who actually cares for the well being of his students and their learning.

What internships/research projects have you participated in?
The past two years I have been working on an independent study with one of my professor’s researching the accuracy of prospect rating agencies and their predictions for the top baseball prospects from various years. I have learned how to gather dat, research, and write research reports and explore the topics I am interested in with an academic lens from this project.

Who has been the most influential person to you during your time in college?
The most influential person to me during my time in college has been Coach Tad Skelley. The fall of my first year I did not perform the way I wanted to on the field and Coach Skelley always believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself sometimes. I think his commitment to me and our baseball program at Colby has made me the player I am today and I am grateful for the time I was able to play for him.
