Why did you choose to attend Tufts?
It had the best combination of athletics and academics out of the schools I was looking at.

Why did you choose to be a Division III student-athlete?
Sports have always been a huge part of my life and I wanted to continue playing past the high school level and I felt that Division III allowed me to balance my sports with my academic interests.

What is the best thing about being part of the NESCAC?
The best thing about being part of the NESCAC is playing against former teammates and meeting kids from other schools and forming friendly rivalries with them.

What extracurricular activities or service activities do you participate in?
I am a Green Dot rep for the baseball team. Green Dot is our sexual assault prevention and treatment program and I got involved because sexual assault is a big issue in the world and has affected everyone in one way or another, including many people close to me. I am also involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. I have been mentoring a middle school student from Cambridge since my freshman year.

Looking back on your four years, what are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the growth and change in maturity that I’ve undergone since freshman year. I came in as a very shy and somewhat immature kid who didn’t want to grow up and go to college and now I feel as prepared as I can be to take on life after school.

Is there anything special about your uniform number?
My uniform number is 35 and my girlfriend’s is 15 which add up to my favorite number, 50.

What is something you enjoy doing that you never get tired of?
I never get tired of playing sports and card games and just spending time with my friends and family.

What has been your favorite class outside of your major?
Advanced Principles of Exercise Science because it was taught by our head athletic trainer at Tufts and the we discussed a lot of the rationale behind our training programs including why we train, how we train, and what effects each type of training program has.

What has been the most interesting part of your major?
Coding projects that can be used to perform tasks in the real world such as creating a website has been the coolest thing I’ve done so far. It’s rewarding to be able to show your friends and family that your hard work has paid off towards more than just completing an assignment.

What is the greatest lesson you have learned from being a student-athlete?
The greatest lesson I’ve learned from being a student-athlete is that the lessons and skills we learn on the field, like hard work, functioning as part of a team, and leadership, are the same skills that will lead to success in the classroom and the real world beyond college.

What is your favorite place on your campus?
My favorite places on campus are the athletic center and our baseball field because when I’m there all the stress from school and life just disappears and I can go back to being a little kid playing the game that I love, even if it’s just for a little bit.

Who has been the most influential person to you during your time in college?
The most influential person I’ve come across so far in college is my coach from freshman year, Coach Casey. He taught us little lessons and gave us tips on how to live our lives every day beyond the baseball field in order to be the best person we could be off the field and the best player and teammate we could be on the field.
