Josh Burke - Amherst - So. - F - Tampa, Fla.
Burke registered four points on two goals and two assists in a 2-0-0 weekend for the Mammoths. The sophomore
Josh Burke (Tampa, Fla.) scored the eventual game-winning goal late in the third period in a 4-3 decision against Little Three rival Williams on Friday. Burke also tallied Amherst's first goal and recorded the lone assist on its second goal. On Saturday, he helped Amherst erase a 2-0 deficit versus Middlebury when he assisted the game-tying goal in the second period. The Mammoths went on to win 3-2.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Bowdoin – The Polar Bears scored three times in the final seven minutes, including the game-winner from sophomore
Michael Dinges (Haverhill, Mass.) with 1:40 remaining, to rally from a 3-1 deficit and steal a 4-3 win at Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.
Colby -
John McElaney (Walpole, Mass.) assisted both of Colby's goals this weekend. The senior captain now has five assists in the last four games and ranks fifth in the NESCAC in assists/game.
Conn. College - First-year forward
Logan Cleary (Mentor, Ohio) had a strong week, as Conn split the weekend against Colby and Bowdoin, tallying three points on two goals and one assist. In a 3-1 win over the Mules on Friday night, Cleary earned his first collegiate point on an assist on
Rocco Testa-Basi's opening goal. Three minutes later, Cleary tallied his first career goal, the eventual game-winner, as Conn picked up a crucial conference win. On Saturday, Cleary netted his second goal to tie the game at 1-1 against Bowdoin.
Hamilton –
Max Bulawka (Kelowna, British Columbia) recorded a four-point weekend in two road wins. Bulawka scored two goals, won seven faceoffs, and blocked two shots in a 5-1 victory at Middlebury. The sophomore forward added two assists and five faceoff wins in a 3-1 triumph at Williams. Bulawka had an assist on the go-ahead goal with 7:54 left in the third period, and caused the turnover that led to the Continentals' third goal with 4:00 remaining.
Middlebury – Junior
Jin Lee (Stamford, Conn.) scored once in each of Middlebury’s NESCAC contests over the weekend. On Friday night, the Panther robbed Hamilton of a shutout, before scoring Middlebury’s second tally on Saturday against Amherst. Lee is tied for first for the Panthers with five points (2G, 3A).
Trinity –
Devon Bobak (Northwood, Ohio) logged his third shutout of the season with 17 saves in a 1-0 victory over Albertus Magnus, halting a two-game losing streak to the Falcons. The sophomore added 29 saves in a 2-1 loss to Hobart.
Tufts – Senior
Peyton Durand (Newport, R.I.) backstopped two conference wins as Tufts surged to the top of the standings with a second straight six-point weekend. In two wins, he had a 1.00 goals against average and a .966 save percentage (56 saves on 58 shots). He made 33 saves in the 3-1 win over Colby on Saturday when the Mules outshot the Jumbos 34-23. Against Bowdoin on Friday, he made 23 saves on 24 shots.
Wesleyan – The Cardinals did not compete last week.
Williams –
Owen Stadheim (Lyme, N.H.) compiled two goals and one assist during a two-game weekend for the Ephs. Against Amherst Friday evening at Lansing Chapman Rink, the junior finished with one goal and one assist. Stadheim also found the back of the net once against visiting Hamilton Saturday.
