NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Spencer Fetter – Trinity – Gr. – QB – Winter Park, Fla.
Fetter completed 26-of-42 attempts for 378 yards and a program single-game record seven touchdowns in a 58-21 win at Bowdoin. On the season, Fetter set new program highs in passing yards (2,567), touchdowns (32), and yards per game (285.2) as the Bantams claimed a share of the 2023 NESCAC Championship for the fifth time in seven seasons.
NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Dave Filias – Middlebury – Jr. – DL – Lynn, Mass.
Trailing 14-7 with 3:41 left in the half, Filias recovered a fumble at the Colby one-yard line and ran it in for a touchdown, knotting the contest and providing the momentum the Panthers needed to move ahead for good after the intermission. The junior also had three tackles during the contest, including one for a loss of seven yards. Filias finished the season second in the NESCAC in sacks (7.5), helping Middlebury set a school record with 27 wrap-ups in a season, and third in the league with 13 tackles for a loss of 62 yards.
NESCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Cole Crider – Middlebury – Sr. – TE/P – Nashville, Tenn.
Crider had seven punts for 263 yards (37.6 yards per punt) including four that landed inside the 20-yard line. One of those punts was downed at the one-yard line, leading to a fumble recovery and touchdown by Middlebury, which tied the contest and ultimately allowed the Panthers to move ahead for good. Crider’s longest punt of the day was 53 yards, which was his sixth punt over 50 yards this season. Crider also successfully faked a punt on fourth down, which resulted in a first down for the Panthers. The senior finished his career as the program record holder in average yards per punt (38.3) and is second all-time with 5,168 punting yards.

Bates – Sophomore
Sergio Beltran (East Palo Alto, Calif.) caught three passes for 65 yards against Williams, giving him 52 catches on the season, which ranked third in the NESCAC this year. It also ranked third all-time in Bates football history for catches in one season …
Ryan Rozich (Cromwell, Conn.) tallied a team-high eight tackles, including a season-high six solo stops against the Ephs. He finished his rookie season ranking second on the team with 54 total tackles. Rozich was denied his first career sack on Saturday due to a defensive holding call well away from the ball …
Parker Huynh-Benningfield (Austin, Texas) had his best day as a Bobcat to date, averaging a season-high 41.83 yards per punt against Williams. The sophomore pinned the Ephs inside their own 20-yard line three times, including a season-long 52-yard boot that went out of bounds at the three. Four of his six punts were secured by Williams via a fair catch, and none went into the end zone for a touchback.
Colby –
Thomas Keeling (Irvine, Calif.) surpassed a 13-year Colby record for pass attempts in a game (54) as the senior quarterback fought to keep Colby within striking distance against Middlebury. Keeling connected on 34 of those attempts, good for 362 yards and four touchdowns, all career-highs.
Keon Smart (Woodstock, Ga.) hauled in 11 passes for 143 yards and two scores. His 69-yard touchdown in the second quarter was an immediate response to Middlebury's first score and put the Mules back in front by seven. Smart had three touchdowns of 69 yards or longer this season …
Julian Young (Manalapan, N.J.) totaled 11 tackles Saturday against Middlebury, two for a loss, for his seventh double-digit tackle performance in eight games this season. The junior stripped the ball carrier and recovered the fumble in the fourth quarter, leading to Colby's fourth touchdown to close within one score game. Young topped 90 tackles in a season for the second straight year.
Middlebury – Senior
Donovan Wood (Mastic, N.Y.) helped Middlebury top Colby 35-28 to earn a share of the NESCAC title. The Panther had seven receptions with 92 receiving yards including a touchdown. Wood moved into second place on Middlebury’s career receiving yards list with 2,246 yards, while his 19 career touchdowns rank fourth all-time. The Panthers claimed at least a share of the NESCAC title for the fifth time in program history and the second time in Wood’s career.
Trinity – Graduate student
Michael Masse (Dedham, Mass.) led the Bantams' defense with a team-high five tackles, including a tackle for a loss, in a 58-21 win at Bowdoin. Masse also made an appearance on the offensive side of the ball, scoring his first collegiate touchdown on a 1-yard touchdown pass …
Matthew Jumes (Franklin, Mass.) converted 6-of-7 extra point attempts and added a 27-yard field goal during a 58-21 win at Bowdoin. For the season, Jumes went 14-of-14 on field goal attempts and 46-of-48 PATs during his junior campaign.

Owen McHugh (Milton, Mass.) went 14-of-21 passing for 245 yards, two touchdowns of 15 and 22-yard, and no interceptions in a 43-0 season-ending win at Bates. The rookie also rushed six times for 51 yards and one touchdown …

Ivan Shuran (Medina, Ohio) made four PATs and one field goal (36 yards) in a 43-0 win at Bates Saturday. The junior also had seven kickoffs for a total of 395 yards, averaging 56.4 yards per kickoff.
