NESCAC Fall Spotlight: Kwesi Adu-Diawuo - Middlebury Football

11501Kwesi Adu-Diawuo is a sophomore on the Middlebury football team. The Orange, N.J. native appeared in all nine games last fall at linebacker and on special teams to help the Panthers post a 9-0 record and win the NESCAC title.

Adu-Diawuo plans to major in economics, but may add a minor in film after thoroughly enjoying a film class during his first year on campus.

As a child, he attended the Keewaydin Summer Camp on nearby Lake Dunmore. Things came full circle for Adu-Diawuo when he was contacted by Middlebury and later arrived on campus in the fall of 2019, joining the football team.

His parents immigrated to the United States from Ghana in the 1980's, stressing the importance of education to he and his two older brothers. Adu-Diawuo rode a train and a bus each morning during his 30-minute commute to and from school, in order to obtain a quality education.

After settling in last year, he plans to be very active with the Student Athletes of Color (SAoC) organization on campus this year. Adu-Diawuo looks forward to helping educate people on important topics, how they can be combatted and how to continue to turn the tide on systemic issues in our country.
