Wesleyan Duo of Chong and Yu Sweep Division III ITA Oracle Cup Finals

ROME, Ga. – The Wesleyan University women's tennis due of senior Eudice Chong and junior Victoria Yu combined to sweep the 2017 ITA Division III Oracle Cup. Chong claimed the singles title as well as the doubles crown alongside Yu on Saturday at Berry College.

Chong, the defending three-time NCAA singles champion and the top-seed in the singles bracket, defeated Ysabel Gonzalez Rico of Emory, 7-6(4), 6-2.

Later in the day, she paired up with Yu for a chance to win the doubles title, where she met Gonzalez Rico once again as well as Bridget Harding. Chong and Yu, the defending NCAA doubles champions and top-seed in the bracket, won convincingly against the third-seed by scores of 6-1, 6-1.

Chong and Yu weren't finished, however, and later defeated the doubles champions from the NAIA, Megan Bianco and Daniela Farfan of Keiser University, by scores of 6-1, 6-2. The duo continued their impressive play, winning the 2017 ITA Oracle Cup Women's Doubles Championship by defeating the Division II team of Hanna Volikova and Alina Kislitskaya of the University of Indianapolis by scores of 6-4, 6-2. With the win, Chong and Yu earn a berth to the ITA Fall National Championships which will take place Nov. 1-5 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, Calif.
