WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Future Williams College student-athlete Faye Sultan will make history this week, when she becomes the first female swimmer to represent Kuwait in the Olympic Games.

The 17-year old is slated to compete in the 50-meter freestyle in London on Friday. After starting her swimming career at the age of nine, she left the sport to pursue dance. Three years ago, she made her way back to the pool with hopes of fulfilling her Olympic dreams. As Kuwait's only female swimmer, she trains with the country's men's team.

Following the Olympics, Sultan will travel to Williams to join the class of 2016. She hopes to make an immediate impact for the Ephs, who finished second at the NCAA Division III National Championships last winter.
