HADLEY, Mass. - Following the completion of the 2007 NESCAC Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships, the league has announced the 2007 NESCAC All-Conference Team. The top three finishers in each event during the championship, hosted by Middlebury College on April 28, receive All-Conference recognition.

The Sabasteanski Award for the Most Outstanding Male Performer at the meet went to Williams senior Andrew Arons (West Hartford, Conn.). Arons took home the 100 and 200-meter dash titles at the NESCAC Championship for the second year in a row and also was part of the Ephs' relay wins in the 4x100 and 4x400, as his time in the 100-meter and the 4x400-meter relay team time both set new track records at Middlebury.

On the women's side, the Sabasteanski Award as the Most Outstanding Female Performer was shared between Amherst senior Shauneen Garrahan (Fairfax Station, Va.) and Williams senior Caroline Doctor (Franklin, Tenn.). Garrahan won the 5000-meter run for the second year in a row while also placing second in the 1500-meter event as the Lord Jeffs finished fifth at the NESCAC Women's Track and Field Championship. Doctor came away with first in both the long jump and triple jump for the second-straight year while also setting the new benchmark at the Middlebury track in both events.

Bates' Rich McNeil (Lawrence, Mass.) came away with male Most Outstanding Rookie Performer after placing second in the hammer throw, third in the discus throw and fourth in the shot put. Logan Crane (Portland, Maine) of Tufts was named the female Most Outstanding Rookie Performer thanks to a third place showing in the 100-meter dash and helping the Jumbos capture the 4x100-meter relay title.

Women's Coach of the Year honors went to sixth year head coach Ralph White from Williams, while Tufts second year head coach Ethan Barron was named Men's Coach of the Year. It is the second year in a row that the two coaches have been honored by their peers as NESCAC Coach of the Year. White guided the Ephs' Women's Track and Field team to its seventh-consecutive title at the 2007 NESCAC Track and Field Championships, while Barron helped the Jumbos' Men's Track and Field team earn a share of the NESCAC Men's Track and Field crown for the first time since 1991.
