Williams Wins Inaugural Women's Rowing Championship

WEST WINDSOR, NJ - Williams College earned the automatic bid for the New England Small College Athletic Conference by placing first among conference schools in the Women's Varsity Eight at the Avaya Collegiate Rowing Championships.

The Ephs finished first in their heat in a time of 6:41.15 to advance to the Grand Final, in which they finished fourth in a time of 7:07.36. Colby placed third and Trinity fifth in the same heat.

Wesleyan and Colby finished second and third, respectively, in the Petite Final. The Cardinals finished in a time of 7:10.89, while the White Mules were next with a time of 7:14.28. Trinity placed fourth in the Third-Level Final in a time of 7:23.34.

Williams earned the automatic bid for the inaugural NCAA Division III Women's Rowing Championship to be held May 30-June 1 at Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis, IN. Colby received an at-large bid for the national championship.
