HADLEY, Mass. – The NESCAC announced the 2012-13 Men's Swimming and Diving All-Conference Team. The top three finishers in each event at the 2013 NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships received All-Conference recognition.
Williams senior Paul Dyrkacz was named Swimmer of the Meet for the third consecutive year. Dyrkacz won three individual events, establishing pool records in the 200 and 400-yard Individual Medleys. He also set a new pool, meet, and NESCAC mark in the 200-yard Breaststroke with his 1:59.68 finish. Dyrkacz was also a member of the 400-yard Medley Relay and 400-yard Freestyle Relay, both of which took second. He also swam on the winning 800-yard Freestyle Relay. Dyrkacz also earned recognition as the Four Year High Point Swimmer.
Johann Schmidt of Tufts was named Diver of the Meet for the third straight season. With a score of 570.85 in 3-meter Diving, the junior set a new meet record, while placing second in 1-meter Diving. Senior Travis Jones of Bates was named Four Year High Point Diver.
Sam Stewart of Amherst was named Rookie of the Year after establishing a pool and meet record with a 48.09 finish in the 100-yard Butterfly and placing second in the 50-yard Butterfly and 50-yard Freestyle races. Stewart was also a part of the winning 400-yard Medly Relay, which set a new pool and meet mark of 3:19.56, the second place 200-yard Freestyle Relay team, and the 200-yard Medley Relay team, which placed third.
Marc Benvenuti of Connecticut College was named Coach of the Year. It is the first time Benvenuti has received the honor on the men's side, but he was named Women's Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, and 2011.
Brad Snodgrass of Tufts was named Diving Coach of the Year for the third straight year. Snodgrass was also the Women's Diving Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008.
