Trinity Claims Women's Squash Title

HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior captain Jo-Ann Jee (Kuching, Malaysia) dominated the No. 6 match, allowing just six total points scored against her, to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 9-0 win over the visiting Williams College Ephs in the finals of the 2010 NESCAC Women’s Squash Championship Sunday afternoon at Kellner Center.

Trinity improves to 14-1 with its third shutout win in as many matches in the tournament, after blanking Wesleyan and Middlebury in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. Williams falls to 13-5.

Junior Robyn Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) and senior Emily Paton (Victoria British Columbia) posted 3-0 victories in all three Bantam wins in the tournament, and Trinity won all 27 individual matches this weekend without losing a single game. Trinity freshman No. 1 Pam Hathway (Munich, Germany), unranked herself, disposed of No. 3-ranked Toby Eyre, 11-8, 11-8, 11-6, in the No. 1 match against Williams. Bates won the third-place match, 6-3, against Middlebury.
