MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Former Middlebury College men's basketball player Ryan Sharry '12 has signed a one-year contact with T71 Dudelange in the Diekirch League. The Diekrich League is known as Luxembourg's top division.

T71 won league championships for two consecutive seasons in 2010 and 2011, before losing in the championship series last season to Sparta. The team will look to get to the top of the Diekirch league with the addition of Sharry, who is likely to be the club's primary scoring option. He will arrive in Luxembourg to begin the preseason on September 10.

Sharry was a two-time All-American at Middlebury, just the second player in school history to earn All-American honors. He was also named the 2012 NESCAC Player of the Year, as well as the D3Hoops.com Northeast District Player of the Year. He was a finalist for the prestigious Jostens Trophy, a national award created by the Rotary Club of Salem, Va., to honor the most outstanding men's and women's Division III basketball players of the year. The award takes into account three vital parts: basketball ability, academic prowess and community service.

Sharry led the NESCAC in scoring (18.8) and blocked shots (2.0), while ranking second in rebounding (10.3) and field goal percentage (.614) last season. His field goal percentage placed him eighth nationally. Sharry had 16 double-doubles during the 2011-12 campaign, giving him 39 in his four years as a Panther. He scored a career-high 41 points at RPI on January 3, with a career-best 16 boards on February 4 versus Colby College.

Sharry finished his career fifth all-time at Middlebury with 1,411 points. He gathered 901 rebounds (2nd), blocked 189 shots (2nd) and finished third in field goal percentage at 55.7% in 106 career games.

At the Senior All-Star game at the Salem Civic Center in Virginia, Sharry was named the game's Most Valuable Player. He scored a team-high 20 points in the game, while grabbing a game-high 18 rebounds. Sharry went 7-10 from the floor with three assists and two blocks in just 18 minutes of play.
