Sheena Landy, Women's Basketball, Trinity College
Sheena Landy was a two-sport star for Trinity during her four years in Hartford. A captain of both the women’s soccer and women’s basketball teams, the two-time All-NESCAC performer got it done off the field of play as well as a political science major and an intern at the Connecticut State Capitol.
Landy was named as the College’s top female senior athlete in 2017 (Trinity Club of Hartford Trophy) at Trinity’s annual senior athlete reception. She also participated in a legislative internship program as a full-time intern for Connecticut State Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff. Landy studied abroad in Barcelona during the summer of 2015 and also helped lead the Bantam women’s soccer team’s efforts in raising money in a fundraiser for the ALS Association. A two-time NESCAC All-Academic member, she also attended the NESCAC Coaching Symposium for Women in the spring of 2017.
Landy, a women’s soccer All-NESCAC Second Team honoree in 2015 and a First Teamer in 2016, played in 17 games as a senior and contributed six points on a pair of goals, including one game-winner, and two assists while leading a Trinity defense that surrendered 0.80 goals per game and recorded 11 clean sheets. A four-year starter on the pitch, Landy totaled three goals and three assists for nine points on 26 shots with two game-winners in 66 career games. On the basketball court, Landy shot over 40 percent from the field and averaged 5.2 points per game in 73 career appearances. She also finished with 1.4 steals per game in her career while dishing out 2.1 assists and pulling down 3.6 boards per contest.
