Keith put together an impressive week of baseball as he hit .486, collecting 17 hits with two doubles. He also scored 10 runs and stole six bases. He knocked in four runs as the Cardinals won their first five games. He registered multiple hits in six of the eight games, including a four-hit performance in Wesleyan’s 17-9 win over Kalamazoo.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Tim Superko Tufts University
Senior • Wellesley, Mass.
Superko took a perfect game into the sixth inning and finished with seven innings pitched allowing just one hit, no walks and 12 strikeouts as Tufts defeated St. Vincent, 22-0, on Saturday in Hampton, Virginia. He retired 17 straight St. Vincent batters before a pinch-hitter hit a two-out single in the top of the sixth. The lefty threw 94 pitches, 62 for strikes.
Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Harry Stanton Wesleyan University
Junior • Attack • New Canaan, Conn.
Stanton played an instrumental role in Wesleyan’s 2-0 week. He totaled 14 points on 11 goals and three assists, and added six ground balls. In an 11-4 win over Vassar, he scored five goals and dished out an assist. He followed that up with a six-goal performance in the road against Middlebury, and added two assists in a thrilling 17-15 win. Stanton also recorded five ground balls.
Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Emma Tenbarge Williams College
Sophomore • Attack • Peapack, N.J.
Tenbarge scored five goals, including three in the second half, to help the Ephs pull away in a 14-8 win over Connecticut College. She also had eight of the Ephs’ 15 draw controls and added two caused turnovers and one ground ball.
Softball Player of the Week
Maggie Hoffman Tufts University
Senior • Outfielder/1B • Avon, Mass.
Hoffman hit .909 (10-for-11) in three games over the weekend for Tufts. She registerd three doubles, a home run, five runs scored and four RBIs. On Sunday, she combined in a split versus Buffalo State and Clarkson, she was 8-for-8 with three doubles, a home run, five runs scored and three RBIs. In the win over Buffalo State, she singled and scored Tufts’ first run, had an RBI single in a five-run second inning and then gave Tufts a 9-3 lead with a two-run home run in the fourth.
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Lindsay Golia Trinity College
First Year • North Branford, Conn.
Golia went 4-1 with a save during Trinity’s Florida trip to open the season last week. Golia impressed, posting a 1.35 ERA in seven appearances, striking out 22 while yielding just nine walks. In her first career start against Becker, Golia recorded six strikeouts and did not allow a run in the five-inning, complete-game shutout.
