NESCAC Seeks Championships and Media Relations Assistant

NESCAC Logo The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) is accepting applications for the position of Championships and Media Relations Assistant. The NESCAC is an 11-member NCAA Division III athletic conference with headquarters in Hadley, Mass. The desired start date for this full-time 12-month position with benefits is September 2012.

Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Director and Assistant Director with all aspects of championship administration, media relations activities, and conference operations. Responsibilities include providing assistance with coordinating championships; updating policies and procedures manuals; designing and developing championship programs; ordering and distributing championship awards; confirming championship officiating assignments; compiling championship financial reports; representing the conference at designated championships; writing and editing weekly reports and press releases; maintaining and updating the conference website; utilizing social media to disseminate conference news; maintaining and updating conference records, coordinating and submitting conference statistics to conference constituents, media outlets, and the NCAA; and processing and distributing conference awards. Additional duties include assisting with the day to day administrative operations of the conference office including NESCAC and NCAA rules compliance, activities of the conference SAAC, and other duties as assigned. Travel and some night and weekend work required.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Minimum of two years of work experience in athletics administration, collegiate sports publicity or related field. Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Applicants should have a strong interest in intercollegiate athletics administration and familiarity with the NCAA Division III philosophy. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Stat Crew, and Content Management Software as well as experience with video production preferred.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes an excellent benefits package.
