Tufts President Bacow to Step Down in 2011
MEDFORD, Mass. Lawrence S. Bacow, who has advanced Tufts University's leadership in teaching, research and public service while championing access to higher education, announced at the Feb. 5-6 meeting of the university's board of trustees that he would step down in June 2011. Bacow took office as Tufts' 12th president on September 1, 2001.

Tufts' Bayard Selected as USTA New England Coach of the Year for 2009
WESTBORO, Mass. Tufts University women's tennis head coach Kate Bayard has been selected by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) New England as the 2009 College Coach of the Year, presented to the college tennis coach in New England who showed dedication to the sport of tennis and successfully transferred that enthusiasm to team members.

Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Release #10
HADLEY, Mass. Amherst first year defender Geneva Lloyd (Calgary, Alberta) received NESCAC Player of the Week honors for Feb. 8, 2010. Lloyd moved from the blue line to forward this past week and continued her impressive scoring pace, tallying two goals and two assists during a 3-0-0 week for the Lord Jeffs. She leads Amherst in points with 19 (3-16-19).

Women's Basketball Weekly Release #10
HADLEY, Mass. Colby sophomore forward Rachael Mack (Augusta, Maine) earned NESCAC Player of the Week for Feb. 8, 2010. Mack averaged 13.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game during a 3-0 week that saw the Mules clinch a home quarterfinal contest in the upcoming NESCAC Womens Basketball Championship for the first time since 2003. She hit 14-of-25 shots (.560) and went 12-for-14 from the foul line.

Men's Basketball Weekly Release #10
HADLEY, Mass. Bates junior forward Alex Gallant (Bangor, Maine) and Connecticut College sophomore forward Demetrius Porter (Virginia Beach, Va.) were named NESCAC Co-Players of the Week for Feb. 8, 2010. Gallant was a key reserve for Bates during a 2-0 weekend, which included a 76-47 win over Amherst on Friday - the first victory by the Bobcats over the Lord Jeffs since the 1987-88 season. Porter averaged a double-double during a 1-1 week for the Camels, scoring 32.0 points and grabbing 11.0 rebounds per game.
