NESCAC In The Community - February Recap

The student-athletes and teams at NESCAC schools are very active in their communities, both on their own campuses as well as in the surrounding areas. The student-athletes, coaches, and athletic department staff members contribute hundreds of hours of time through volunteer efforts and more. Below is a recap of the community outreach efforts for the month of February. 

Middlebury Women's Tennis
Hamilton Women's Ice Hockey
Feb. 1: The Middlebury women's tennis team spent a month visiting the residents of Eastview in Middlebury, Vt. and pampering them with manicures. Feb. 3: Hamilton women's ice hockey hosted a game to create awareness around sexual assault. Watch Video
Hamilton Golf  Trinity Women's Basketball Play4Kay
Feb. 7: Members of the Hamilton golf teams volunteered during the Martin Luther King Day of Service and Women in Sports Day.  Feb. 10: The Trinity women's basketball team hosted a Play4Kay game for breast cancer awareness. Read more
 Trinity Women's Basketball  Amherst Athletes Love to Read
Feb. 22: The Trinity women's basketball team drafted 13-year old Laura Robichaud to the team through Team IMPACT. Read more  Feb. 23: Amherst student-athletes teamed up with Maple Elementary School in Easthampton, Mass. for the "Athletes Love to Read" initiative. Read more
Tufts Women's Soccer Team Impact  Williams Men's Lacrosse Team Impact
Feb. 26: Tufts women's soccer adds 13-year old Emily Matarese to the team through Team IMPACT. Read more March 2: Williams men's lacrosse welcomes first-grader Parker Langenback to the team through Team IMPACT. Read more

 Trinity Baseball
March 7: The Trinity swimming and diving team and senior Doug Curtain are recognized for their efforts to help deliver food to a local shelter in Hartford. Read more
March 9: Trinity baseball added 7-year old Gavin Morris to the squad through Team IMPACT. Read more
